IAF begins Apache trials

Saab offers DRDO underground radar

Saab has offered its radar, CARABAS, to the Defense Research and Development Organization’s Electronics and Radar Development Establishment for evaluation. The radar can penetrate densely-forested areas and detect mines and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) buried underground.

Exercise Garuda reaches endgame

Afghan Army to train in India

The Indian Army is to provide basic training to officers and men of the Afghan National Army (ANA) in India. This training is expected to begin by August and will be conducted at various regimental training centers of the Indian Army.

IAF begins C-17 trials

The Indian Air Force (IAF) began the trials of the C-17 strategic lift aircraft on Monday. The aircraft will be required to land in high altitude airfields, switch off and take off again. Load carrying capability and expeditionary landing and take off ability is also likely to be examined hands-on by IAF pilots.

Navy checks out Malaysian Scorpene

The Indian Navy recently got a chance to run its eye over the Royal Malaysian Navy’s Scorpene submarine KD (Kapal Diraja or Royal Ship) Tun Razzaq, which arrived at Kochi on Friday, en route to Malaysia.

F/A-18 as good as 5th gen: US Navy

The US Navy has compared the Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet to fifth generation fighter aircraft, making a strong pitch for its selection in the 126 Medium Multi Role Combat Aircraft (MMRCA) contest of the Indian Air Force (IAF). It also said intends to keep the aircraft in service beyond 2035.
