Boeing back at DefExpo

A US Marine Corps MV-22 Osprey

US aviation company Boeing will return to DefExpo on Thursday with a line-up of its classic defense aviation platforms, many of which have already been acquired by the Indian Air Force (IAF) and Indian Navy.

Boeing will show-off models of the C-17 Globemaster III strategic airlifter, P-8I, AH-64D Apache attack helicopter, CH-47F Chinook heavy-lift transport helicopter, V-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft and ScanEagle Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV).

Of these, the first two are already being acquired by India. The acquisition of the next two is currently being negotiated. And, well, Indian brasshats have been known to show interest in the Osprey.

Besides these, Boeing says its booth in Hall 14 will also feature ‘a mobile console for the P-8I maritime reconnaissance and anti-submarine warfare aircraft and a Virtual Mission Board’.

A company statement quoted Dennis Swanson, Vice President, Boeing Defense, Space & Security for India, as saying, “We look forward to highlighting the breadth and depth of our defense capabilities for the India market and meeting with customers and partners during the show.”
