Filmmaker Karan Johar has a film on submarine warfare coming out next month.
Called The Ghazi Attack, it depicts the circumstances of the sinking of the Pakistani submarine PNS Ghazi, during the 1971 India-Pakistan war.
Films, however, can often be over-indulgent with their artistic license. Make sure you read Vice Admiral G.M. Hiranandani’s book Transition to Triumph, which has an account of the incident.
From what we’ve seen of the trailer, the CG could use some work. But on the other hand, it has Kay Kay Menon, whom we loved in the Bollywood remake of A Few Good Men, Shaurya (Yes we know – Rahul Bose was terrible).
The best bit is that someone in Bollywood has made a film about submarine warfare.
