Saab has signed a contract with France’s defence procurement authority, the Direction Générale de l’Armement (DGA), for the supply of two GlobalEye Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft. The contract includes associated ground equipment, training, and long-term support.

Saab stated that the order is valued at approximately SEK 12.3 billion, with deliveries scheduled between 2029 and 2032. The agreement also contains an option for the DGA to purchase two additional GlobalEye aircraft at a later stage.

“Today’s order underscores the robust partnership between Saab and France. By selecting GlobalEye, France is investing in a highly modern and capable Airborne Early Warning & Control solution. This choice reinforces France’s commitment to sovereignty and strengthens Europe’s overall protection, with both Sweden and France operating GlobalEye,” said Micael Johansson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Saab.

GlobalEye is described by Saab as a multi-domain AEW&C platform designed to provide long-range detection and identification of objects in the air, at sea, and over land. The system combines active and passive sensors and is intended to supply real-time information to air, land, and naval forces. According to Saab, this information supports situational awareness and early detection of potential threats across large operational areas.
