Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari took over as the new Chief of Air Staff of the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Thursday, succeeding Air Chief Marshal R.K.S. Bhadauria.
A fighter pilot, the new CAS was commissioned in December 29, 1982 and has more than 3,800 flight hours on various aircraft in his log book.
Besides senior staff appointments later in his career, ACM Chaudhari has commanded a MiG-29 squadron and was a ‘pioneer member of the Suryakiran Aerobatic Display Team’, according to the IAF. He is also a Cat ‘A’ Qualified Flying Instructor.
