Indian Army Chief in Nepal next week

The Indian Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Vijay Kumar Singh will visit Nepal on Monday on a four-day trip where, as is traditional, he will be commissioned an honorary rank of General of the Nepalese Army at a special investiture ceremony by Nepalese President Ram Baran Yadav.

The Nepal Army chief, General Chhatra Man Singh Gurung, was conferred the honorary rank of General of the Indian Army by the Indian President Pratibha Devisingh Patil in December, 2009.
