The Indian Navy will conduct the upcoming Tri-Services Exercise (TSE-2025) Trishul in early November 2025, jointly with the Indian Army and Indian Air Force. The exercise, led by Headquarters Western Naval Command, will take place across multiple domains including the creek and desert sectors of Rajasthan and Gujarat, as well as in the North Arabian Sea.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the large-scale exercise will involve coordinated operations by the Army’s Southern Command, the Navy’s Western Naval Command, and the Air Force’s South Western Air Command. The Indian Coast Guard, Border Security Force, and several other central agencies will also participate, underscoring a focus on inter-agency coordination and integrated operations.

The exercise aims to validate and synchronise operational procedures among the three Services for joint, effect-based operations in a multi-domain environment. Objectives include enhancing interoperability of platforms and networks, and advancing jointness in planning and execution.

A statement from the Navy said the exercise “will focus on validating multi-domain integrated operations in a complex operational environment, involving large-scale deployment of Indian Navy warships, Indian Air Force fighter and support aircraft, and amphibious operations by the Indian Army and Navy.” These amphibious operations are expected to include the participation of the Landing Platform Dock INS Jalashwa and Landing Craft Utility vessels.

The exercise will also test joint Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), Electronic Warfare (EW), and Cyber Warfare capabilities, while featuring carrier operations conducted by the Indian Navy in coordination with shore-based Indian Air Force assets.

The tri-service drill will further evaluate the employment of indigenous systems developed under the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, while refining operational procedures and tactics to address evolving threats and the changing nature of warfare.

TSE-2025 Trishul represents the continued effort by India’s armed forces to develop and institutionalise integrated joint operations across land, air, sea, cyber, and space domains, aimed at enhancing overall readiness and national security preparedness.
