Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), the consortium leading India’s fifth-generation fighter aircraft program — the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) — have announced the induction of Dynamatic Technologies Limited (DTL) as an exclusive partner for the project.
The addition of DTL is expected to strengthen the consortium’s ability to deliver a fully indigenous fifth-generation fighter by integrating DTL’s global experience in complex aerostructures and subsystem manufacturing with L&T’s engineering capabilities and BEL’s electronics expertise. The collaboration aims to enhance India’s domestic aerospace manufacturing ecosystem and contribute to the government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative in defence technology.
Arun Ramchandani, Senior Vice President and Head of L&T Precision Engineering & Systems, said, “Adding Dynamatic Technologies as an exclusive partner to this consortium brings unmatched agility and precision to our mission. This partnership is as much about building a next-gen fighter jet as it is about redefining the Indian Aerospace industrial ecosystem.”
DTL’s CEO and Managing Director, Udayant Malhoutra, said, “We have been at the forefront of building supersonic aircraft structures for the past three decades. Our pioneering legacy, combined with advanced engineering expertise of Larsen & Toubro, brings together a unique partnership with the capabilities required to deliver India’s fifth-generation fighter aircraft.”
The AMCA program, being developed by the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is intended to equip the Indian Air Force with an indigenous, stealth-capable multirole combat aircraft. The inclusion of DTL marks another step in consolidating private sector participation in India’s high-technology defence manufacturing sector.
