The team sent by the Russian manufacturers of the Sukhoi-30 MKI aircraft in response to summons by India to help investigate last week’s crash of an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft has visited the site of the crash.
The team, which is reported to have some 25 members, is reported to be shuttling between Pune and Jodhpur, which is reported to be closer to the crash site than Jaisalmer, according to unofficial sources in the IAF.
The aircraft crashed on April 30, 70 kilometers southeast of Jaisalmer, with both pilots bailing out, but only one surviving the crash. While the IAF has not grounded the aircraft, sources have informed StratPost that no flights of the aircraft have taken place since the crash.
