Swarm drones across domains hosted by motherships will be the future of naval operations according to a top official of Russia’s Rubin Design Bureau, which unveiled new uncrewed submersible concepts at the Army 2024 defence exhibition in Moscow in August.
A year after the sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines, Russia has developed new underwater drone technologies that could prevent future incidents.
Russia’s Rubin Design Bureau has developed the multi-mission, unmanned submersible for surveys, mapping, search and salvage operations, monitoring and sentry duties, with potentially indefinite endurance capabilities and expandable or customisable payloads depending on mission requirements.
Speaking on the importance of Defexpo 2012 for Saab CEO Hakan Bushke says “Saab is growing outside Sweden and India is one of the market areas for Saab. In fact we believe India is a home market for the future, a market that has the potential to be larger than our European markets.”
