Airbus Helicopters has revealed two next generation rotorcraft concepts for NATO’s Next Generation Rotorcraft Capabilities study. Developed with Collins Aerospace, Raytheon and MBDA, the proposal includes a conventional helicopter and a high-speed compound design.
Spain has placed four contracts for 100 Airbus helicopters for its army, navy, and air force, including the H135, H145M, H175M and NH90, as part of a major fleet modernisation effort.
Morocco has signed a contract with Airbus Helicopters for ten H225M aircraft to modernise the Royal Moroccan Air Force’s combat search and rescue capability, replacing its long-serving Puma fleet. The helicopters will be equipped with mission systems including a double hoist, searchlight and Safran Euroflir 410, along with provisions for machine guns and an electronic warfare suite.
The new military version of the H160 helicopter is intended to equip all three services of the French armed forces, with plans to order 169 H160Ms to replace five types of helicopters that are currently in service or recently retired, according to the company.
Airbus Helicopters and Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency will pair a H225M medium lift helicopter with the Flexrotor UAS via its crewed-uncrewed teaming system called HTeaming, integrated on board the helicopter, to allow its crew to take full control of the drone.
