The fourth round of ADD, held after nearly two years, was led by India’s Defense Secretary Shashikant Sharma and Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Deputy Chief of General Staff General Ma Xiaotian. The first sea trials of the INS Vikramaditya, the erstwhile Russian carrier, Admiral Gorshkov, have been postponed by five months. Russian website RUSNAVY.com reports that the sortie, which was earlier scheduled for the end of this year, is now being planned for May 2012.
Navy’s P-8I takes off

The Indian Navy’s first P-8I, Long Range Maritime Reconnaissance aircraft took off on its first flight on Wednesday from Renton field in the US State of Washington, taking off at 1202 hours and landing two hours and 31 minutes later, at Boeing field in Seattle.
Naval LCA starts its engine

The naval LCA is still not ideally suitable for carrier-based operations, with the current GE-F404 engine slightly underpowered. This will change with the development of the naval version of the LCA Mk II, which will be powered by the GE-F414 engine.
