U.S. Army Adds Allies to Counter-Drone Hub

The Joint Interagency Task Force 401 has expanded access to its counter-drone marketplace through agreements with Australia, Poland and South Korea while also awarding a $500 million contract to Perennial Autonomy for AI-enabled counter-UAS systems and drone interceptors.

UK Tests AIM Battlefield Messaging System

The UK’s Defence Science and Technology Laboratory has tested a new digital messaging system called AIM designed to help military forces coordinate sensors, uncrewed systems and weapons more quickly during battlefield “find and strike” operations.

Germany Orders €1B Rheinmetall Gear

Germany has ordered €1 billion in infantry equipment from Rheinmetall, including protective gear and digital systems. The package aims to improve coordination and battlefield awareness for thousands of soldiers.

The German military plans to create six new units to operate kamikaze drones by 2029, with plans for a data-driven, AI-enabled battlefield. The Bundeswehr is testing loitering munitions and aims to field its first medium-range battery by 2027, with further long-range systems to follow.
