
The Gripen Partnership meet is meant to encourage its existing suppliers to meet and partner potential Indian suppliers for a potential Make in India Gripen production line.
The two companies have signed an MOU, which covers an investment by Saab of approximately MSEK 250 through a suitable structure, according to a statement.
Speaking on the importance of Defexpo 2012 for Saab CEO Hakan Bushke says “Saab is growing outside Sweden and India is one of the market areas for Saab. In fact we believe India is a home market for the future, a market that has the potential to be larger than our European markets.”
The exhibition, which will be inaugurated by the Indian Defense Minister AK Antony, is to be on a larger scale than previous years, with an substantial increase in participation and floor area occupancy.
