
Saab has introduced the HEAT 758 anti-tank round for the Carl-Gustaf system and the Bolide 2 missile for the RBS 70 NG air defence system. The new weapons were unveiled during demonstrations in Sweden, with deliveries of Bolide 2 planned from 2027.

Lithuania has ordered RBS 70 Bolide air defence missiles from Saab in a deal valued at SEK 3 billion, with deliveries planned between 2028 and 2032. The purchase follows earlier contracts for Carl Gustaf ammunition and AT4 grenade launchers, expanding Lithuania’s recent defence procurement programme.
Speaking on the importance of Defexpo 2012 for Saab CEO Hakan Bushke says “Saab is growing outside Sweden and India is one of the market areas for Saab. In fact we believe India is a home market for the future, a market that has the potential to be larger than our European markets.”
StratPost understands that four Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) have been selected for the trials which will take place in India for an initial order estimated to be worth INR 27,000 crore (USD 5.4 billion) for over 800 launchers and over 5,000 missiles.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) base here will host the eight-week-long seventh edition of the joint military training activities with the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) from October 14, a defense spokesman said.
