UK to Test Defence Supply Chains

The UK Ministry of Defence will conduct a major wargame with five defence companies to assess how supply chains would perform during sustained conflict. The exercise will examine risks, capacity constraints and policy responses to maintain military equipment supply.

The UK has launched a consolidated Military Intelligence Services structure and a new Defence Counter-Intelligence Unit to accelerate intelligence operations and respond to rising hostile activity, with officials citing a significant surge in cyber and espionage threats. A new Defence Intelligence Academy will provide training in cyber, space and geospatial intelligence disciplines.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will announce on Monday ‘the UK’s conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarine fleet will be significantly expanded, with up to 12 new SSN-AUKUS boats to be built,’ as his government publishes a long-awaited Strategic Defence Review (SDR).
