Rafael Launches Mini EW System for UAVs

Rafael Advanced Defense Systems has introduced the Storm Shield miniature electronic warfare system designed for unmanned aerial platforms. The company says the system is intended to provide UAVs with autonomous electronic protection in contested electromagnetic and air defense environments.

Larsen & Toubro and France-based Exail have partnered to provide an unmanned mine counter-measure suite for the Indian Navy’s planned fleet of 12 Mine Counter Measure Vessels. The companies will offer autonomous and remotely operated systems designed to detect and neutralise naval mines.

Rheinmetall, Deutsche Telekom Plan Drone Shield

Rheinmetall and Deutsche Telekom plan to develop systems to detect and stop hostile drones and cyber threats. The project will combine telecom networks, sensors and laser-based technologies to protect key infrastructure.

Norway, Ukraine Expand Drone Cooperation

Norway and Ukraine have agreed to expand defence cooperation with a focus on drone production, including enabling Ukrainian drones to be built in Norway. The deal also covers joint development, technology sharing, and scaling up air defence and military production.

Joby Conducts First Flight of Demo Turbine-Electric VTOL

Joby Aviation has completed the first flight of its turbine-electric hybrid VTOL aircraft, developed with L3Harris Technologies to expand the range and operational use of its electric air taxi platform for commercial and defence applications. The company said the demonstrator builds on its all-electric aircraft, which has logged over 50,000 miles of flight testing and is in the final phase of Federal Aviation Administration type certification.
