New Delhi: The next edition of India’s official defense exhibition, DefExpo, will be held in March next year, the defense ministry announced Monday.
This time, the defense ministry has ‘decided to go for open bidding’ to award the contract for organizing the Land, Naval and Internal Security System Exhibition.
The ministry is inviting bids from ‘companies owned by Indians and of Indian origin, not a subsidiary of any foreign company’, to organize the event. The Request for Proposal (RFP) is available online at tenders.gov.in. The deadline for submission is 1400 hrs on 02 November 2011
The biennial four-day exhibition, the seventh in he series, will be held from March 29 to April 1 at Pragati Maidan here.
The exhibition focuses on equipment, weapons and systems for land, naval and internal security forces.
DefExpo was originally conceptualized in 1998 with an objective to promote defense exports from India and exhibit the capabilities of Indian defense research, development and production.
