US chartered AN-124 cleared to fly

The US-chartered Russian AN-124 aircraft that landed at Mumbai last night has been cleared to take off after being checked by Indian authorities. The aircraft intruded into Indian airspace on its way to Kandahar from the US-leased and British-owned military base of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.

The aircraft was asked to land as it entered Indian airspace with the wrong code.

The aircraft was carrying armored ambulances.
