Airbus Defence and Space plans to open a new A330 MRTT conversion centre in Seville, Spain, by the end of 2027. The facility will increase annual aircraft conversion capacity, support maintenance work and upgrade aircraft already in service.
The Royal Saudi Air Force already operates six Airbus A330 MRTT aircraft and the four new aircraft are expected to enter service in 2027. A total of 82 A330 MRTT aircraft have been ordered by 15 countries, giving Airbus a 90 percent market share outside the USA.
Airbus will be featuring the A330 MRTT (Multi Role Tanker Transport) aircraft, AS565 MBe Panther and H335M helicopters at the show.
Airbus went home from the Dubai Air Show 2021 with orders for two A400M aircraft from Indonesia and two A330 MRTT from the UAE, and an order for three aircraft from Spain just before the air show.

Boeing and Airbus will compete in a new IAF tender for tanker aircraft being conducted for the 3rd time – this time without a Russian bid. Airbus had won both the earlier tenders that were later withdrawn.
Airbus has pitched the aircraft for the Indian Air Force (IAF) competition for six mid-air refueling aircraft, in which it is likely to be competing with the Russian IL-78.
The Indian Air Force contest for mid-air refueling tanker aircraft will depend on how a United States Air Force competition for a massive order for 179 tankers plays out towards the end of the year.
