
ITPS Canada has ordered six Leonardo M-346 T Block 20 advanced jet trainers, with options for an additional six for tactical fighter pilot training at the International Tactical Training Centre.

KNDS Deutschland and Italy’s Leonardo have signed a Letter of Intent to jointly develop a new mobile artillery system, combining KNDS’s artillery gun module with Leonardo’s wheeled vehicle platform for future Italian Army requirements. The KNDS 155 mm/L52 main gun Artillery Gun Module has a rate of fire of nine rounds per minute and requires a crew of two to three personnel.

The Leonardo Rheinmetall Military Vehicles joint venture has received its first contract to supply 21 A2CS Combat vehicles to the Italian Army, marking a major step in Italy–Germany defence cooperation and European industrial integration. The supply is part of the Italian Army’s A2CS – Army Armoured Combat System program, which plans for a total acquisition of 1,050 armoured combat vehicles to replace its current heavy vehicle fleet.

Italian heavy and defence motor vehicle company, Iveco, announced on Wednesday its decision to sell off its defence vehicles business to Italian defence company Leonardo and the rest of its business, which includes trucking, to India’s Tata Motors. While the deal with Leonardo is valued at €1.7 billion, the transaction with Tata Motors amounts to €3.8 billion.

Offering the latest look at the form of the future next generation fighter, the model of the flying demonstrator for the next generation Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) combat aircraft was published on Thursday, with the demonstrator expected to be ready for flight by the end of 2027, becoming the first such aircraft developed in the UK in the last 40 years.
