Leonardo has signed a contract worth around €320 million with Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB), the naval arm of EDGE Group, to supply naval combat systems for the Kuwait Navy’s “Al Dorra” missile boat program.

The agreement covers the provision of combat systems for the Falaj 3 configuration that will be integrated into missile boats being developed for Kuwait. The deal expands an existing working relationship between Leonardo and ADSB, which the companies said has already involved the delivery of more than 25 naval vessels over a period exceeding two decades.

According to the announcement, the contract also forms part of broader cooperation efforts between Leonardo and EDGE Group. The companies said the agreement supports plans for a future joint venture between the two organizations.

Leonardo said the agreement includes capabilities related to warship management and system integration. The company stated that the work involves integration and delivery of naval systems intended for maritime operations.

The announcement stated that Leonardo’s naval portfolio includes Combat Management Systems, naval guns, long-range surveillance systems and missile defense technologies. According to the company, these systems are in service with more than 100 navies worldwide.

No delivery timeline for the Kuwait Navy vessels or additional details on the specific combat systems to be installed under the contract were disclosed in the announcement.

The Kuwait Navy’s Al Dorra program forms part of efforts to develop naval capabilities through the acquisition of new missile boat platforms and associated systems.
